The Journey of Hytale
Hytale began in 2015, born from the creative minds behind Hypixel, the world's largest Minecraft server. What started as a dream to create a standalone game that empowered creators quickly became one of the most anticipated titles in gaming history.
After years of development, acquisition by Riot Games, and a challenging period where the project was nearly cancelled, Hytale has been dramatically revived.
In a surprising turn of events, the original founders reclaimed the project in late 2025. They made the bold decision to return to the game's roots, utilizing the original "legacy" engine that fans fell in love with, rather than the C++ rewrite that had stalled progress.
